Message from Kim Gresh, Capital Campaign Chair
Dear Friends,
Looking back over my tenure on the MUST board of directors, I think about the obstacles that we have overcome together: continuous broken water pipes from old, outdated plumbing; a growing population of those living in poverty; turning people away from the Elizabeth Inn due to the lack of bed-space; providing access to a free clinic for those without health insurance; creating a women and children’s program because of the unique needs of homeless women with children; caring for the victims of hurricane Katrina; the staggering numbers of people facing foreclosure on their homes; and an unprecedented growth in every aspect of the ministry.
We must continue to move forward, to keep up with the growing needs of MUST Ministries. We must change with the times in order to continue making progress. MUST has developed a strong board of directors to help lead us toward a new vision for MUST’s evergreen strategic plan. This plan will help make the necessary changes to effectively and economically support the 29,000+ people who come to the MUST door step each year.
The community rallies behind MUST each year, providing thousands of volunteer hours along with the $3.6million dollars it takes to provide the services required to help people get back on track. It is this remarkable relationship with the Cobb County and Cherokee County communities that are the key to helping the homeless put their lives back together and to bridging the gap between paychecks for those living in poverty. MUST programs offer hope, but through the love of Christ, donors and volunteers help change lives.
Join us now, as we embark on this new journey so that we may increase our ability and capacity to better serve the homeless and the poor.
