About Us

MUST’s Smyrna office was begun in July, 1986 by several local churches in response to the need they witnessed in the Smyrna community. The City of Smyrna generously offered the use of a vacant building next to the Fire Station on West Spring Street. This building housed the MUST Smyrna food pantry, clothing closet and employment service for many years.

As the redevelopment of Smyrna’s downtown occurred, the old MUST building was torn down and a new building was constructed by MUST at the corner of Old Concord and Pat Mell Roads, with the grand opening in September, 2000. A typical day at our new location finds our volunteers serving an average of 150 people.
