Toy Shop

Because Hope is A Must

MUST serves almost 20,000 children a year, a heartbreaking reality in these desperate economic times. At MUST, our team of volunteers and staff members go beyond the basics to offer extra services to the children we serve each year. Summer Lunches, Toy Shops, school food pantries and other services reach the most vulnerable casualties of poverty. Christmas morning is exciting for the 4,000+ children whose struggling parents come to shop at one of the three MUST Toy Shops. Children in Cherokee and Cobb counties receive toys, fleece blankets, hats, scarves, gloves, school supplies, underwear, socks and a family game. Thanks to thousands of donations, the Toy Shops are well stocked for each parent to make special selections for their children. Volunteers and staff who work in the shop during the month of December claim every family has a gripping story of need and a heart of gratitude toward the miraculous help received.

Volunteer Opportunities

The Toy Shop locations will be open for 15 days during the month of December. There will be a two volunteer shifts per day -- each shift is 3 hours long. All shifts are on a first-come, first -serve basis. Please have a backup date and tie in mind when selecting a shift.

Volunteer tasks include: Check in attendants: Greet our clients and collect appointment paperwork. (2 volunteers per shift)

Personal Shoppers: Escort clients through the Toy Shop, be available for questions and assist in picking out gifts (3-4 volunteers per shift). Please note: This task is not recommended for youth volunteers.

Check Out Attendants: Verify that clients have gone to each section and received the correct number of items (2 volunteers per shift).

Stockers and Sorters: Sort incoming donations and restock shelves with new items. (3-5 volunteers per shift) Please note: this is a great task for youth volunteers.

Runners: Assist clients in taking gifts to their vehicles (2 volunteers per shift). Please note: This is a great task for youth volunteers.

MUST has helped me in a lot of ways, including food and clothes. You particularly helped when I thought there was nothing else that I could do for my child at Christmas. Thank you for the Toy Shop.
